Board of Trustees
Monika Nagpal, President
Monika serves as Member of the Board of Trustees of Amana Foundation. She leads the annual Day of Dignity event that Amana Foundation hosts in partnership with Islamic Relief USA and is in charge of developing funding for Amana projects.
Faiz Hassan, Vice President
Faiz serves as a Member of the Board of Trustees of Amana Foundation.
Dania Giaddui, Secretary
Dania serves as Member of the Board of Trustees of Amana Foundation. She is a graduate of Temple University in Cellular and Molecular Neuroscience. She heads the Zakah Committee of Amana Foundation.
Yousef Hussain, Treasurer
Yousef serves as Member of the Board of Trustees of Amana Foundation in the capacity of Treasurer. He is a graduate of Penn State University in Neuroscience and plans to pursue graduate studies in healthcare. He has served as past President & Treasurer of the Executive Committee of Amana Foundation.
Nicole Souadda, Founding Board Member
Nicole serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of Amana Foundation. She has previously served as the Board’s Chairman and has been an active member and volunteer since the organization’s inception. Nicole has previously served on the Executive Board of CAIR-Philadelphia as well as serving as a Director for the National Investor Relations Institute Virtual Chapter.
Iftekhar Hussain, Founding Board Member
Iftekhar serves as member of the Board of Trustees of Amana Foundation
He also serves as Chairperson of the CAIR PA Board of Directors and a member of the CAIR PA Philadelphia Chapter Executive Committee. He has also served as a member of the Board of Directors of the ACLU-PA and on the advisory committee of the American Friends Service Committee, Middle East Peace Building Unit. He is engaged in local interfaith educational initiatives with a focus on ‘Islam and the Middle East’ and ‘US Foreign Policy and the Muslim World’.
Iftekhar serves as Friday prayer service leader at suburban mosques in the Delaware Valley. He has started and volunteered for PA and TX Muslim community organizations at the board level and executive committee level.
Iftekhar was born in Bangladesh, has lived in the Middle East and Europe and studied in Texas obtaining a Bachelors and a Masters at Texas A&M University and worked toward a PhD at Penn State University. He has worked in the Pharmaceutical industry on corporate process re-engineering.
Iftekhar is married to Bushra Kourani for the past 24 years and has three children Yousef, Omar and Huda.
Amani Aly, Founding Board Member
Amani Aly was born to Egyptian immigrant parents and raised mainly in NYC. She earned her B.Sc. degree from NYU’s Stern School of Business with a concentration in Accounting and is currently running her own accounting business in NYC and Philadelphia area. Amani has lived on the Main Line of Philadelphia for the last 20 years with her family and has been fortunate to learn from many scholars in NY, NJ, and PA. Amani continues to take classes in Islamic studies and has a deep desire to be a student of sacred knowledge and world religions. She has a passion for people, food, and the environment with a goal to live a modest and holistic lifestyle.
Khurram Ghayas, Founding Board Member
Khurram serves as Member of Board of Trustees of Amana Foundation. He leads the Amana Foundation project to serve food insecure communities in the Delaware Valley.
